Manon les Suites
Manon les Suites is a hotel that oozes wow factor. Set around it’s unique dramatic central pool area that is filled with tropical plants, lounge beds and covered with a glass roof, Manon les Suites makes Copenhagen an option for that relaxing poolside break all year round. A sun-trapped roof terrace, spacious suite rooms with four-poster beds and the most impressive hotel gym, complete with a boxing ring, all help to make this one of the hottest hotels in town.
The hotel has an eclectic mix of influences, urban New York, tropical Bali, Ibizan beach. Exposed piping meets luxurious plants and four-poster day beds, around a tiled pool where terracotta pots dangle from chains hanging from girders supporting the glass roof five storeys up.
There’s also the attractive roof terrace where you can choose from sitting at tables, lounging on day beds or hanging out on the tiered bench seats, filled with brightly coloured cushions. There’s a sauna, steam room and bucket shower depending on your mood.
Meanwhile down in the basement hides a complete full fitness gym, with all of the facilities of a high-end gym including a boxing arena. HIIT and boxing classes are held throughout the week for guests to join in or if you just want to work out, there is something for everyone.
Bedrooms all centre around cosy four-poster beds. Design is typically Scandinavian with a splash of Danish hygge and a wood feel throughout. Space in this all-suite hotel has been optimised to give separate seating and sleeping zones as well as a basic kitchenette. There’s a luxury feel with snuggly organic cotton robes and cool Danish design furnishings that just makes you want to stay in.
Manon les Suites has a huge focus on being eco-conscious. They work with an eco-conscious brand to supply sustainable toiletries, they don’t use tiny throw-away shampoo bottles and there’s a reusable water bottle in the room that you can fill up throughout your stay, so no need for any plastic bottles. They could still do some work to bring their food menu’s more in line with their eco-conscious theme to make it seem more like a priority than a gimmick, but it’s a start.
To add to it all, the location is pretty great too. Located next to the Lakes, making it perfect for a morning run. The centre is about a 15 minute walk away, or you can rent bikes from the hotel and be in Vesterbro in five minutes and Norrebro in ten.
It’s not surprising to find the coolest design hotel to be in the heart of Copenhagen. It’s Danish style and character adds to your stay and coming back to lounge by a pool after a long day of exploring beautiful Copenhagen is something really quite special.
