Le Roch Hotel & Spa
Le Roch Hotel & Spa is like a hidden gem in the heart of central Paris. Fashionable elegance has given a contemporary feel to this classic Parisian building thanks to the beautiful work by Interior Designer Sarah Lavoine. From the moment you enter through the thick black curtains shrouding the entrance, you step into a dark-walled haven complete with an inviting fire place, that makes you feel immediately as though you have arrived home. The whole hotel has a laidback vibe, relaxed living spaces filled with books, sofas and beautifully patterned rugs where staff are waiting to welcome you like an old friend.
Pet Friendly
Le Roch Hotel takes the usual ‘pet-friendly’ label and goes miles beyond. From the moment we arrived, our pup was as welcome as we were. The room had been made up as much with her comfort and enjoyment in mind as our own, with her own luxurious bed, bowls and food left out for her. Le Roch used to have a resident dog so are experts in making a dog feel at home and understand the pleasures that having a dog around can bring. She was welcome to be in all areas of the hotel with us and definitely added to the homely feel for other guests who were very happy to see her.
Location
Location is everything on a city break and the location of Le Roch, in the heart of the 1st arrondissement, is perfect for exploring all that the French capital has to offer. Tucked between Place Vendôme, the Palais Garnier and the Louvre, with just 10-minutes to the Champs Elysee, Le Roch Hotel has some of the best sights in the city on it's doorstep, while being nestled into a quiet street that has retained it’s classic Parisian feel. For those travelling with their four-legged friends, the park in front of the Louvre is dog-friendly and always had friendly dogs waiting to say bonjour.
The 37 rooms and suites are everything that you would expect from a modern Parisian boutique hotel. Colours in jewel tones of deep blue, green and burgundy are used to create a warm cosy feeling, while the use of lighting adds a more intimate feel. High-tech facilities such as the multiservice tablet that connects to the TV and portable phone chargers, give a more modern edge. The overall feel is luxuriously fashionable with coffee table art books filling the shelves and trendy furnishings throughout.
The Indulgence Suite really is the ultimate Parisian abode. A living room, terrace and it’s very own hammam. Walls are painted in black and finished with large round mirrors, u-shaped upholstered bed heads, velvet chairs and long draping velvet curtains. Small details added a clever touch of home, from the Marhsall speaker on the bedside table, the desk that doubles as a dressing table and the shelves full of books in the living room.
Beyond the his-and-hers sinks in the bathroom, the Indulgence Suite comes complete with it’s own hammam steam room. Glass doors lead to a wet room with a rain shower, bath tub and decorated in green Moroccon tiles. With just a tweak of the electronic display, the whole space fills with steam and magically transforms into your own private hammam. Admittedly, it’s difficult to see anything of Paris when your hotel is as beautiful as Le Roch.
The Indulgence Suite is perfect for a stay with your four-legged friend, the spacious room comfortably fits the dog bed and bowls so your pup can feel at home in their own little space. Meanwhile with the balcony provides a space for some fresh air and a feel of outside.
The lounge area is the spot to relax and unwind, reading by the sofa or sipping a cocktail from the bar menu. Sofas gather around the central fire place, with velvet poufs and small lamps helping to add that homely feel. On a rainy autumn day, an afternoon tea on the sofa here is everything I could wish for from an Autumn day in Paris.
The wine and champagne menu is so extensive that it has been categorised by region. Meanwhile the huge range of spirits are beautifully displayed behind the bar, where bartenders are on hand to rustle up creative cocktails.
The restaurant is beautifully designed around a central floral display that is flooded with light from the ceiling windows and the courtyard garden. Sarah Lavoine has created a space that is intimate yet warmly welcoming, continuing with the use of velvet furnishings along with green-glass topped and gold-rimmed tables. The tables are arranged into small sections and around the circular central design, to add a feel of privacy for guests making this a great spot for a romantic meal for two or a catch up with friends.
This is a restaurant where the food lives every bit up to it’s beautiful surroundings. The menu has been put together by two-Michelin-star chef Arnaud Faye along with Le Roch’s own Rémy Bererd. The kitchen uses many locally sourced ingredients with a menu that changes every three weeks, meaning it is always good time to come back.
This is also where breakfast is served every morning, where guests are able to choose from the wide range of buffet options as well as warm cooked dishes made to order.
The spa area creates the feel of a tranquil retreat in the heart of the city. The main attraction in the stunning spa has be the candlelit pool, created from black lava rock with the sound of the small waterfall providing the perfect sound to relax and unwind after a busy day on the streets of Paris. Pass through the waterfall to directly access the hammam, the spot to warm up on a cold Parisian day.
The spa is partnered with Codage where treatments are tailored around the uniqueness of everyone’s skins needs. What could be better than a personalised massage or facial with a targeted skincare treatments or fully indulging in Le Roch Signature Treatment where your massage and facial will be combined leaving skin radiant and soft.
The fitness area is complete with state-of-the-art equipment that will keep you active while enjoying a lavish Parisian getaway.
Reason to Return?
This is one hotel that I would return to in a heartbeat! And it’s safe to say my pup would too. I missed out on the beautiful terrace this time due to bad weather but I can’t wait to be sipping a cocktail in the sun right here at Le Roch Hotel the next time that I’m in Paris.
