If you’re looking for a romantic escape to a quiet hideaway, there’s no better option than Six Senses Yao Noi and its incredible views stretching across the Phang Nga Bay, this place is guaranteed to soothe your soul.

Departing from Phuket on the Six Sense speed boat, in just 45 minutes the thatched huts cascading along the hillside come into view, perched amongst the limestone karats of the Phang Nga Bay. Everything about the Six Senses is like a tropical island dream from the white sand beaches all the way up through the butterfly-filled gardens, to the hilltop infinity pool with jaw-dropping views.

We were met as we arrived by our smiling personal Guest Experience Maker in his golf buggy who was on hand throughout our trip to attend to our every need and whisk us off wherever we wished to go. Anything and everything can be arranged nothing is too difficult and it’s imperative that you have the best stay possible.

All of the rooms are vast, topped with thatched-roofs and huge terraces with private pools. Six Senses has an impressive environmental record which can be felt here as the property is designed using natural materials that harmonise with the environment. A covered outdoor area makes for daytime lounging around a games table which can be lit up with candles for a private romantic evening. You can’t help but feel as though you are residing in a plush tree house. Mosquito nets fashioned from driftwood suspended above huge beds and sensual indoor and outdoor bathrooms allow you to feel at home in the jungle. With a fully stocked private wine cellar, you almost have no reason to even leave your private piece of paradise.

Mornings begin with yoga in the hills of the spa, facing out to the jungle with the breezy air blowing a serene calmness to start the day. The spa rooms are perfectly laid out with a private waterfall garden attached to the spacious treatment rooms offering an extensive menu to cater to whatever you body requires.

It’s easy to feel so much like paradise that you may not want to leave, but it’s well worth exploring the local area. We set off on our private long tailboat where our Captain, Khun Head, kept up the impeccable Six Senses level of service. We left early heading to Hong Island, arriving just in time to have it all to ourselves. We explored the stalagmites of Koh Osia and the monkeys of Koh Rai before jumping off for another private beach on Koh Peak Bia, and then heading back to Six Senses just before lunch.

Being on the East of Koh Yao Noi, Six Senses has special sunrises every morning while the sun sets behind. This makes sunset a great time to jump back on the longtail, heading to Koh Nok for another private island experience. Arriving to the white sands, a lounge bed was set up with a bottle of chilled white wine and an array of canapés for us to enjoy what felt like our very own sunset show.

Back at The Den bar, live music brings in the early evening with sunken seating and hidden wooden lounge swings helping the bar live up to its name.

Menu’s are fresh and seasonal with much of the produce coming from the hotel’s organic vegetable gardens and mushroom hut. The Dining Room serves up organic European cuisine with a glass floor showing the creak meandering beneath. The Living Room offers world cuisine with a Chef’s Table for a personal experience. And perched atop the resort, the Hilltop Reserve is the most exclusive dining venue with stunning views from the infinity pool across the Bay. 

Days end back on the beach with a huge screen showing movies every night. The Beach seemed an appropriate screening while we were there with the island being just across the Bay and many of the views being similar to what we had been gazing at all day.

And then it’s time to climb into your mosqito net and dream up how to perfectly spend your day ahead.
